Debut album from the hotly-tipped new UK dark electro duo - including bonus track "Pressure"!
Over the past 12 months or so, DWA has been developing a reputation for identifying and nurturing new talent – but only someone completely certifiable could fail to see that this UK duo is already going places and destined for even greater things.
Only formed in 2009, just one look at the UK’s gig listings tells its own success story. This month alone SURGYN can be found opening for STRAFTANZ and TERROLOKAUST, then for GRENDEL at DV8 Festival, then for MODULATE. Next month, with ANGELSPIT. The month after, COVENANT and UBERBYTE.
Boasting two charismatic lead singers dividing live vocal duties, plus a fearsome sonic punch, it is little wonder that in such a short space of time SURGYN have established themselves as the darlings of the UK’s live scene – and won over such a large swathe of fans in the process.
In May, seemingly unaware of just how great an album they had recorded, they self-released 100 copies of their 10-track debut “Vanity”. Just days later, DWA had signed them – and those 100 copies of the basic version of the album have now become collectors’ items.
DWA’s official CD release of “Vanity” is out on September 9th 2011 worldwide, and comes with 2 brand-new additional songs recorded in May/June: “400” and “Sharp As Stars” – plus a selection of remixes from SOMAN (DWA/Infacted/Metropolis), MODULATE (Infacted/Metropolis), PHOSGORE (ProNoize) and CAUSTIC (Metropolis).
